Frederik van Lierde 2nd in Ironman NZ

19 March 2008

Frederik van Lierde became 2nd in his first Ironman in New Zealand. He finished between the two Kiwis Cameron Brown and Kieran Doe. For Brown this was his seventh victory at Ironman New Zealand. Van Lierde, The European Long Distance Champion, was delighted with his runner up performance.

Van Lierde had no experience in this race and had not faced 180km in a race before. He felt good on the bike and was very satisfied with the FFWD Disc wheel. “I felt supported by the FFDW disc wheel”. Additionally he said that the wheel felt light during the climbs. “The sound of the wheel was great and it gave me a good cadence.” As New Zealand is known for the extreme wind conditions, the disc wheel was a perfect choice for van Lierde. He is sure that he will use the FFWD disc wheel again!
