Pauwels wins the World Cup!

27 January 2015

Kevin Pauwels wins World Cup Cyclocross overall!    In the last race of the World Cup series in Hoogerheide Team Sunweb-Napoleon Games had a good day. First youngster Michael Vanthourenhout secured his overall World Cup victory with a second place in the final race.   At the pro race the strong Mathieu van der Poel was clearly the strongest of the day. Behind him was a exciting battle for the podium spots with a surprisingly good performance by Gianni Vermeersch of Sunweb-Napoleon Games who finished third just before teammate Pauwels.    The fourth place was enough for Pauwels to secure his second overall victory in the World Cup! "My season is successful, although it can always be more! The World Championships next week are very important and something else!", said Pauwels after the race!     ...

Klaas Vantornout takes National Jersey again!   The Belgian cyclocross field is very competitive with many riders capable of taking the National title. Vantornout fought hard till the last round where he was able to take some distance from the others.  It's the second National title for Vantornout. "It was a surprise when I won my first title two years ago, but now even more!" said Klaas after the race. Due to a cold Vantornout did not race much the last weeks.   Big congrats from a proud sponsor. We are happy to see Klaas in his National Jersey again!   Photo: © Cor Vos...

Pauwels wins!

1 December 2014

Kevin Pauwels has won the World Cup in Milton Keynes!   In the very first World Cup held in the UK Team Sunweb-Napoleon Games rode a strong race taking first and second place. Both Pauwels and Vantornout were very strong and leading most of the race. According to Pauwels it was hard to hang on to Vantornout and his back was hurting towards the end.    It came down to a final sprint with two where the small Pauwels was the strongest of both.    Photo: © Cor Vos...
